Howard Auction Lots for June 2017

A good selection of Howard and Sons items at the auction rooms over the next month, here is my pick of the best, click the image to visit the relevant page at the-saleroom.com

Howard daybed with a fixed back, we recently restored one with a reclining back. Bidding already up to £920 and reserve not met. Bidding finishes 10th June at Lacy, Scott & Knight, Bury St Edmunds. I would estimate it finishing somewhere around £2000. Sold for £1200+ Commission, someone had a bargain there.

Anderson & Garland, Newcastle. Have 3 nice lots on the 15th June. A nice Bridgewater armchair although it looks like the castors have been replaced and the seat cushion appears to be missing which could hit the price hard, I would estimate, £2000. Sold for £2200+ Commission.

A nursing chair, sadly the only value here is probably the castors so I expect the £200-£400 estimate to be correct. Sold for £750+ Commission.

Finally a nice Baring sofa, too small for most people but I would expect it to make around £2800, again appears to be missing its seat cushions. Sold for £4500+ Commission.

Also on the 15th June we have Cheffins, Cambridge with 2 unrestored pieces. Another Bridgewater armchair, this one has its castors but sadly appears to be missing its seat cushion again. I would estimate this one at £2500. Sold for £2800+ Commission.

And a Howard open armchair, we struggle to sell these at the best of times, I would estimate £800 at best. Sold for £500+ Commission.

If you buy one of the items missing its cushions, please remember we sell a very near match for the Howard cushion fabric at £30 per meter, samples available on request.
